Default radiator fluid is only going to the radiator holder, not back to the engine

Ok anyone tell me what's going on? everytime I drive the car over heat then i open the hood, all the green radiator fluid is fill all the way to the top in my radiator tank(the white tank have high and low radiator reading on it) is it because of my thermostat is bad or water pump? pics or any help??

Do a search on this forum. Could be many things from the not bad, pretty bad, to the very bad. I had this problem and cured it by replacing the rad cap. Some have had blown head gaskets and so forth. Defenitly get a leak down and compression test!

to me it's more like the thermostat, the reason i am thinking that is because there is no heat when it's over heated. so does that mean the thermostat is closed and not opening? and that's the reason why the fuild is not circulate?

Can't hurt to try, it's a relatively cheap part and an easy fix.

If the termostat doesn't fix then the waterpump. their the two things that control circulation, if it was a head gasket the car would barely run and blow white smoke everywhere plus the overflow tank would be empty.

Its odd though.. cause its still filling the overflow..? Id have to agree with it being a stat. Other then that it doesnt make sence..

yes. the overflow is full to the top. and there is no white smoke coming out of the exhaust. so i am hoping it's just the stat too.
