I hope that thing doesn't have a live rear axle like 05 Mustangs....

BTW whats up with the last pic with Shelby in it? The car is different than the rest of the GT500 pics? Perhaps that one is a prototype? Whats up with the huge red button on the dash (doesn't look like start since you have a key), also the gauge pod in that Mustang isn't as clean as I would expect from an OEM.

From what I heard is that the Cobra GT500 will have an option, Live or IRS rear end. Live rear for drag or IRS for road and track.

As some of you know, I have had 13 mustangs, 1 SVO, 2 Cobras, 94 and 96 Mystic, 3 BOSS's, 1 Shelby, 1 Mach1, an 85 Anniversary edition and a few others.
I called my friend John @ SVT this morning. It is time to get in line.

Get rid of the whip antenna and I might be persuaded to look at it. Not hating on the new Mustang, it just feels cheap and nasty (like the original WRX pillar mount antenna).

Let's see, the base MSRP of a 2004 Cobra was ~34k.
The base MSRP of a C6 is ~44k.

I do not see a 10k increase happening, but maybe...

base was $34,200 on the 04s the converatble was $38 (the 03s had a higher msrp than the 04s), but that really doesnt mean anthing though as it was the old chassis. The article did a very good job of not meationing price range, but we will find out soon enough.

Maybe because of demand. There are far more Vette's than Cobras.

MSRP will be just over $40K, plus of course, with very limited production, in some cases, additional dealer markup. Puts price near Corvette and M3 and Crossfire and ...
