Default 'stage 1' reflash people. did you feel the gains with just a reflash?

My dad has an 04 4EAT fxt. His birthday is commin up and I was thinking a dyno tune/reflash would be a great gift if he could actually feel the gains from it.

Did you butt dyno feel the gains? even if no one told you the reflash was done?

stupid question I know, but I would hate to spend the money and have him not feel it (also thinking of doing the uppipe too as I have a txs unit sitting in the garage)

Just buy my Accessport. It will upgrade with you. I never tried the stage 1 but stage 2 made a big difference. I would like to get $475 shipped. Thanks -ED-

Check it out here - http://www.cobbtuning.com/forester/accessport.html

I can't stand Cobb products. So that won't be an option.

I didn't really feel a "gain" but it smoothed things out markedly.

Stage 1 to 2 however is great, imho.

Sounds to me like I should get a stealthback and uppipe before the reflash.

So are the stories about Cobb (support, etc) or the quality of their actual products?

Just curious?

The short. And as far as I go.
Guy got car built up, before the days of STIs and WRXs. They swore to make it dope, but after like a year and some, they never did **** to his car after the first month they had it or something.

Also heard rumors that the 'mad tyte' CAI design for the RS was borrowed from someone else who was a mech designer... They also screwed up when sending me cams back in 02. Charged me then never sent the parts...

those are just off the top of my head...

i ordered mine and waiting to install along with 4 other wrx locals this weekend...

according to the cobb dyno numbers on their site they estimate 270hp at the flywheel using 93 oct on stage 1.

being we're at 210hp stock i would say that 60 or at least 50 even 40hp should be a VERY noticible difference... we'll see and i'll post up next week...

Keep in mind we're not really at 210hp, per just about every tuner's stock dyno runs - Cobb points that out too. Stock it's closer to 235-240hp...so you're looking at closer to a 30 hp increase.
