Default 04 STI's with ECUTEK

i have an 04 sti w/ 3 inch TBE and thats all as far as mods go.

i'll be getting a ECUTEK reflash/tune in the next week or so.

how big of a difference is this gonna make as far as performance? i've heard it makes a very noticeable difference from friends.

i'm interested in HOW noticeable? is it just a slight gain in acceleration, or is it a night and day difference?

thank you for the comments.....in advance

Why not do the Walbro fuel pump as well? If your spending over $1,000 why not spend another $90 for some insurance.

Depending on the dyno used, most STi's with TBE, fuel pump and reflash will get about 315whp/320trq. I have seen several stock STi's locally put down about 240whp on DynaPak's and gain about another 70-75whp with the above mod's.

is the fuel pump easy to install? is it something thats gonna add performance, or just help the engine run more efficiently? i don't know too much about modding cars. i apologize for being ignorant...but hey, at least im trying to become more knowledgeable.

thanks

Yes, fuel pump is an easy install. However, if you don't feel comfortable, have the tuner do it for you. Basically the fuel pump is for overhead, insurance, efficiency, etc. May not give you more performance, but knowing your engine will not be starved for fuel is a good thing. Just my $.02

I heard changing the fuel pump on stock injectors does absollutely nothing without changing the Fuel Pressure regulator.

dude, what are you talking about? a fuel pump by itself will do nothing, and as far as assurance that you wont run out of fuel... no way! Subaru made sure that the fuel pump could out-flow the stock unmodified injectors. Unless something is wrong or weird about you car, your stock pump goes along with your stock injectors.
