Default should I upgrade to STI?

well... my bugeye is getting old....

basically I have two options...

1. keep the car and continue with my mod plans

2. get my bro's STI and sell my wrx since he wants to trade for a family car

if my wrx is still stock, I'll get the STI anyday.... the only thing that's holding me back is thinking about the time and efforts I've put into modding her...

after all the STI is still the better car even though not as fast anymore.. but hey, I can still mod the sti... furthermore, I plan on upgrading the brake and handling on the wrx (and the STI comes with good brakes and handling)

anyway, thanks for allowing me to vent a bit

I'd say to get the STi. The 6 speed with DCCD is worth the difference between the two cars alone. The only consideration I would give otherwise is if you really like your bugeye look or if your insurance will become savage.

Agreed - I'd take the STi just for the options you mentioned: brakes, handling and 6 speed! And enjoy modding it...

I forgot to mention the 5-speed.... the fear of breaking the tranny ...

I'm leaning out towards the STI now.... but thinking about the time and efforts I've put on the bugeye.... + I love projectors ... the STI's insurance is 100$ more per month

take the STi, it's twice the car, this shouldn't be a hard decision. You will never get the WRX to where the STi can be with mods

take the STi, asides from the obvious superiority of it, and the 6-speed tranny and DCCD....it's an STi. it's being the owner of the STi, the upper classmen of the nasioc community so to speak

and both cars are fun to mod. although STi doesn't have much to improve on, i'd still be fun to mod a little. I personally believe that you don't need massive horsepower upgrades to make a great car, i prefer to work on the bottom end of the car (ie drivetrain, suspension, brakes, tires, wheels, stuff like that.)

STi is killer for insurance though, especially out here in sunny california, the insurance companies do everything they can to ensure that young people have to pay an arm and a leg to drive ANY vehicle.
