Default a little Utec help

I have an 03 WRX and im running the STG2 base map off of the TXS web site. It says to set the boost at 16.5. The question i have is in what gear should i set the boost to that? Also, can i run less boost if i want to while staying on the stg 2 map. or can i run more boost while on that map.

Thanks in advance

should be in 4th, you can always run less... You "can" run more but w/ out proper tuning for it you may lean your car out beyond a safe point and potentially cause damage.

set the boost in 4th gear. you can run less boost if you want, but don't go higher than 17psi.

The map online is only a starting point. Pig rich on fuel, conservative timing, and conservative boost. I would search on this and wrxhackers.com on tuning until your eyes bleed or pc ****s on you. You could save your effort and have it dyno tuned locally. I personally wish I would have gone the dyno tune route sooner- $300: as it was painless and fruitful. The learning curve is rather steep with utec and you need the right gauges to tune yourself. Good luck
