Default Clutchmasters FX100 and OEM replacement Clutch Kits

I have 1 Clutchmasters OEM replacement clutch (stage 0) for the 2001-2005 2.0L/5-Speed Subaru WRX (No STi) in stock. P/N 15-016. This is basically a stock clutch w/ everything needed for the install (alignment tool, bearing, etc.)

$229 shipped in the continental US. THIS IS NOT A PERFORMANCE CLUTCH.

Give us a call for this one -- 215-364-5929.

The above isn't an actual photo of the item; it's just for reference.

Clutchmasters Stage 1, FX100 Clutch in stock as well -- PM for pricing on that. 2002+ WRX, EJ20, 5-Speed, p/n: 15-016-HD00

The above is a file photo for reference only.

FX100:Heavy duty pressure plate (40-65% increase over stock pressure) and steel-backed organic lined disc, smooth engagement. For cars w/ bolt-ons / 50-shot NOS. This assembly is designed to provide extended life and superior holding power for cars with moderate power upgrades and/or more enthusiastic driving in abusive conditions. The pressure plate offers 40-65% more clamping force than a stock cover. Most organic discs provided in Clutchmasters' assemblies include steel-backed lining to enhance the structural integrity of the material which is complemented by the highest quality hub assemblies available to ensure durability and driveability.

Have they changed thier clutches in the last year or so?

I had a clutchmaster stage 3 die in 9 months on a stock legacy turbo motor (all 180lb/ft at the crank)
Not many miles and yes I know how to drive a MT

They determined it was improperly installed, this conclusion was made by looking at the clutch after it was removed (it was installed by an ASE certified tech).

Not trying to kill your deal here, but I figured you should know what you're selling. The vendor I got mine from won't sell them anymore.

Interesting. We've never really had many problems with them that weren't resolved quickly or shown to be something else, in fact we have always had good luck with them and we are using a custom setup Luis over there put together in our STi.

Sorry to hear about your problems with them. I appreciate the input, and no worries --I'm pretty well informed.

If your car is still under warranty and you have bad clutch shudder i'd bring it into subaru and tell them. I did that with mine and they fixed it under warrenty free of charge and the dealer I brought it to stinks...they're very stubborn to do things but they had no problem with this. I am pretty sure there was a service bulletin for the 2002 stock WRX clutches. I told them that when I brought it in and they were like okay come back in 3 days and you'll have a new clutch. Pretty sweet deal. Only think that stunk was they punctured my oil filter when they installed my clutch and I leaked oil without realizing it for a day and almost seized my engine! Thank got I realized before I ran out of oil...towed it into a dealer in NJ and had to wait there for 2 days to get it fixed. Like I said...the dealership by me stinks.

Still have one OEM replacement clutch (This is made by clutchmasters, but is like a stock clutch -- perfect for a replacement in a mainly stock car). This is a steal at $229 shipped.

Call us (215)-364-5929 or PM to buy.

It's a pretty involved installation, if you're a jet engine mech., I'd say get a service manual and give it a go -- I would reccomend having a lift handy, etc. It's a long job and the AWD system makes it very difficult.

How does the clutchmasters OEM replacment clutch compare to the actual OEM clutch that you can get from the dealer in terms of longevity and reliability? I may be needing a new clutch soon.

I would say they're pretty much identical, the CM disc is probably the same thing -- not sure if Subaru uses Daiken discs or not.

The OEM unit is sold -- thread is closing.
