Running a realtime Stg 1 over a stock basemap has no effect, to my knowledge.

You want to run the base map that corresponds with the real-time map you plan on running the majority of the time for maximum performance and reliability. |

When you load a base map, it loads the corresponding realtime map as well at the same time. Loading a realtime map over the same basemap doesn't change a thing (as long as you haven't loaded some other realtime map after the basemap flash). That said, it doesn't hurt to load the same realtime map after a flashing a basemap so go ahead and do it if you are superstitious. ![]() |

When running the Stage 1 base map, you do not need to load any other realtime map over it! You are now running the Stage 1 real-time map.
If you come across conditions where it might be beneficial to run a different map (IE, bad gas, flash stock realtime map, parking in high theft area, flash security realtime map, valeting the car, flash the valet realtime map, then flash the corresponding real time map. When things are back to normal, flash the real-time map which corresponds to the base map again. Hope this helps, it's not that hard! |

If you load the 93 octane stage 2 base map, it has the same effect as loading the 93 octane stage 2 base map and then the 93 octane stage 2 realtime map (except you wasted 2 mins) ![]() Mike |

so here's another question for you.. I dont have any boost, or other type of gauges yet. ANy problems.. I plan on getting the 2 gauge bezzel that goes behind the steering wheel around the instrument pannel. I plan on a boost and EGT..
ANother question now. I heard that since my uppipe and downpipe are both catless that I do not need an EGT now, because the EGT only looks at temps which will then cause the cat to melt.. since I dont have a cat, I dont need one then right? |

1) Get the gauges - they are critical to monitoring your car.
2) EGTs matter for your engine AND your cat. You need to worry about EGTs even on a fully catless car. |

sorry to bump my old thread but have another question for you all.
When you installed your up/tbe or any power mod, did you reset teh ecu via disconecting the neg battery method, or just using the reset ecu feature on the AP? Which is best. I have a gutted up, and full tbe now, i reset using the AP, do I need to do a "hard" reset? Thanks, Steven |

The AP ECU reset will clear CELs but does not erase any of the learning...When you flash a new base map it erases the learning.
When I installed my DP, I flashed the stg2 base map and enjoyed ![]() |
