Default Cobb AP question

Just as a hypothetical, what would happen if I put the AP on Stage 2 mode with just a cat back exhaust and not a full turbo back exhaust? Just a what if question, would it give me any gain to hp or just damage my car?

Don't do it. At best your car will run like crap, at worst you'll damage something.

You will most likely run VERY high EGT's and break something.

i did it for ~ 1 week until I could find a good day to install my downpipe. I made sure to keep it under 3500rpm MAX and ive had no ill effects since then.

ive been official stage 2 for two months now

civichunter2, all you need to run a cobb stg. 2 map is a aftermarket dp, but you should get a 3in cat-back as ur next mod.

I would say get a 3in cat-back first, just b/c you will not get everything out of the ap with the stock 2.25in piping. But you can run the ap stg. 2 on the stock cat-back w/ a 3in dp if you really want.

ur gonna need to take the CAI off unless its a injen brand one. they have special maps for those. CAI's are actually bad for our cars if not tuned

1. you can use a catless up pipe w/ cobb stg 2, and I would recomend it. Up pipe = quicker spool up and a few hp.

2. On cobbs website they say "do not" use a aftermarket intake with stg 2.

Yes, get a catless UP. Your stock one could melt, resulting in turbo=dead. Don't use a CAI. Also, go the extra mile and get real exhaust, don't use the stock stuff, even if it's gutted.
