Default Anyone Bore Out Their Throttlebody?

I need to know if anyone has bored out their throttlebdoy and if u have how much did u bore out. Did this cause any problems afterwards with CEL's or anything else. I jus want more airflow so if this is bad someone let me know.

Assuming there are no other prohibitive restrictions in the intake system anywhere, a bored out throttlebody will do two things:

- More flow at WOT, but only at WOT.
- A real on-off feel to the gas pedal. Just touch it and it feels like you floored it (well, almost).

So lets say I have a custom intake and I bore out the throttlebody..i will experience a more responsive jerk when i touch the pedal? How much should i bore this puppy out to get more airflow in there. Any CEL becasue of this?

All you can do without major work is smooth any flow restrictions.

Consult Cobb or TWE. They both offer p&p'd throttle bodies and would be happy to answer your questions. You may not get conclusive answers here in the forums because it's been long summized that the TB is not the bottleneck in the system. The intake manifold is much more restrictive than the TB will ever be.

There may be alot of info to be had in the archives, but you'd have to search for it.
