Default My first 1/4 mile with the WRX - 13.7s

Just came back from my first time running at the strip. I didn't get to do as many runs as I wanted to because there was a competition going on but hey at least I got to see what its like on the strip. Anyways I was able to clock a couple of 13.7 runs back to back - a 13.74 @ 99.6mph and a 13.77 @ 99.35mph. The 60' times were both at 2.0 something seconds which isn't so great but it's my first time out, gimme a break

Anyways here is what I was running at the time:

- drop-in K&N panel filter (I have the Ultimate Racing billet intake with a K&N cone but I had to take it off during the week and couldn't get it back by today)
- HKS EVC IV @ 15-16psi
- The stock TD04L turbo
- Ultimate Racing blow-off valve kit with HKS super sequential blow-off valve
- Ultimate Racing pre-turbo pipe replace the first cat
- Ultimate Racing fuel cut defenser
- Ultimate Racing 3" downpipe
- Ultimate Racing 3" exhaust with high flow cat
- 94 octane pump gas

This is my street setup and it ran pretty strong. I was just starting to learn how to launch properly just when the eliminations started so I didn't get to run again. We think that the car can run the 60' down to around 1.7s consistently when I get used to launching it. I plan to go back to the strip sometime next week and run the car in street trim again and get the 60' time down to around 1.6-1.7 and get the time to around 13.5. Ultimate will be going back with me to try the car in a more race setup with an open exhaust, race gas, more boost, etc. We want the car to do a high 12 without changing out the turbo.

We also got the runs on video and we'll probably post them on the net soon too. Stay tuned.. more to come!

Cool. Have you thought about lightening the car or running very low profile tires to effectively lower the gear ratio?

So when is ultimate going to start marketing their products?

The more people doing this stuff the better.

Very impressive!

If you ran a 13.7 with a 2.0 60 ft, youll be running alot quicker than a 13.5 with a 1.7. Itll be more like a 13.2.
