Cool Axis Racing Dyno Days - May 28th, 29th and 30th

CC-B is once again proud to be associated with what will already be the 3d Axis Racing Dyno Days in St. Louis. Our thanks to Ron for letting us participate and to Jorge for making it possible.

Details are still being hammered out, but we wanted to give everyone plenty of notice on which dates to mark on their calendar. There are quite a few hotels nearby for those that choose to make it a weekend (that would be me, kathy and the twins, for starters).

Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th are the two primary days, with monday the 30th as an overflow date.

Thanks for reading and see you there....
Eddy

OK, first off.

As we discussed in the dyno day thread, $50 deposits are being taken for dyno day reservations.

There will be 5 slots a day, starting at 9AM and going for 2 hours at a time.

The fee including 2 hours of dyno time will be $275. The $50 is refundable up to 14 days prior to your appointment time. At that time the remaining $225 is due after the tune.

For SURE, there will be UTEC support, Cobb street tuner support, Hydra support, and ECUTEK support assuming ECUTEK gets the personal flasher product out in time.

Between Ron and I we will comfortably have all the products covered.

If you make a reservation, please PM me so we can start a dialogue on the modifications of your vehicle, any expectations or concerns, as well as any recommendations that may be had.

http://www.cc-b.com/Merchant2/mercha...ry_Code=05Dyno <- Please reserve your time slot at this link here.

For those who don't know where, Axis racings dyno location is in Bellville, IL. About 4 hours from Chicago, and 20 minutes from St. Louis.

EDIT 04/11/05:

Current roster-
5/28 - 9:00AM= John /AP -Protuner
5/28 -11:00AM= Jeremy E.
5/28 - 1:00PM= Justin L.
5/28 - 3:00PM= T.J. K./UTEC
5/28 - 5:00PM= Kristi F./AP - Protuner

5/29 - 9:00AM= Kevin H.
5/29 -11:00AM= Chee X./UTEC
5/29 - 1:00PM= Mike M.
5/29 - 3:00PM= Tim W.
5/29 - 5:00PM= Nick W./UTEC

5/30 - 11:00AM= Kurt N./AP- Protuner
5/30 - 3:00PM = Mark H./AP- Protuner

Hotel info:

Last fall we had great luck with Marriott's Fairfield Inn in Fairview Heights.

Hotel address: 140 Ludwig Drive, Fairview Heights, IL 62208

http://marriott.com/property/propert...rshaCode=STLFH

Hotel rates on Orbitz are ~$80 a night. The hotel is approx 5 miles north of the shop, a straight shot at that.

EDIT: 4/14/05

It appears that we will also have AccessPort protuner support for the event. If this changes, I'll update, but as it stands right now, I should have the beta version of the protuner software by next week, with a full version by dyno time.

EDIT: 04/20/05

118 N 1st St Belleville, IL 62220-1320 <-- The address to the Dyno location in Belleville.

EDIT2: 04/20/05

BASELINERS: Here's how Monday will work.

There will be an 11AM and 3PM tune slot, and 6 possible base lines in each other slot. So CC-B will setup the shopping cart appropriately. Baselines carry a $10 deposit, refundable via the same rules as all other deposits. The total will be $50 for your baseline, so just bring the $40 to the dyno time and you're good. Hope this helps those who've waited.

Finally, it goes without saying that cars should be in working order. It wouldn't be the first time that Ron and I sat there re-attaching IC hoses, fixing oil lines, tightening clamps, etc.

I was also briefly talking to Ron last night about this. We're also talking barbequeing and getting food for the guests and onlookers. Should be a good time.

Does Ron know the Cobb Street Tuner or is it you Rifts that knows it?

I believe Ron has seen it a few times. I haven't, but let's be honest... it's symantics at that point. Timing is timing, fuel is fuel, boost is boost. How you adjust them is pretty moot.

Just curious.

I may have purchased a Street Tuner by then and might be looking to get my car tuned.

Have you had any experience tuning a WRX with the OE modded injectors instead of the STi upgraded ones? I'm just curious if that really is a viable option or not. would be cheaper as I've got free stock injectors to use as cores and a local place to mod them for cheap. Main cost would be to send them out for flow testing/cleaning.

The Street tuner has scaling for different injectors, but no listing for the modded ones, but that seems easy to resolve.

Thanks for your time.

Assuming they flow equal to each other, anything can be tweaked to work. It's as simple as scaling it approx, and monitoring trim at idle. Getting that dialed in right, then tuning the WOT map from there.

I just made my deposit for May 29 at 3:00.

I'm assuming you can tune for water injection?

Jup.

What I'm going to do is email everyone individually and discuss exactly what's on the cars as well as what to expect, etc.

Are you guys doing base line runs again this year? don't think I'll be buying the street tuner just yet, but I will be running the cobb 2.5 with vf-34 and would like to strap it down and make sure everything is ok.

thanks. it looks like you probably won't have many dead spots like last year since you are taking deposits, but I'll probably be there at some point no matter what, but It'd be cool if I could get a few pulls. Need a dyno sheet that reads over 200

Andy/Dan: I talked to Ron a little bit ago. What we're thinking (since time slots are filling up relatively quick) is that we'll do the same $50 for 3 pulls with wideband and printouts; but all on Monday.

That way we can make Monday a massive pound them on/off the dyno type thing.

Default tempting

I am seriously considering this. SOOOO Tempting. Ofcourse, I am not putting numbers close to most of you down, but to see where i am at with vf39 and all other supporting mods is very desireable to me. Only thing I would probably want to get between now and then was a turbo inlet hose.
