Default What companies make an axle back for the 05 RS's?

I searched and found a few like SPT and what seems to be Blitz will work. Anyone else making just the rear section exjaust for the 05 RS's?

Thanks

You can use any that fit the 02-04 I believe. I know Stromung sells just the axleback.

I too am disappointed by the limited options and am having a custom cat-back built for the same price or less of the axle-back's that have been mentioned.

I hear ya Bill! I figure I would just start with a nice little axle back and add to the system as my funds allow. Any idea what muffler you would use? I am looking at the Borla's, HKS, and Apexi mufflers but not sure what would be best for the boxer sound.

bobby,

It's the engine that gives you the boxer sound! Just depends on how a given muffler accentuates it! I'm leaning heavily towards Borla's 40357 with an oval tip and a resonator put into the midpipe. I heard this setup on a guy's Civic Si and it's the first Honda I've ever heard that didn't sound ricey. It gives a nice, deep, throaty rumble.

My other option is one of Magnaflow's universal mufflers.

It will be 2.25" piping throughout.

I was going to just get the SPT, Prodrive (had to modify to fit), or Stromung axle-back but for the money I'd rather have a custom cat-back installed.

One thing I have learned, shop around. There's a $200+ difference between the cheapest guy and most expensive guy and I'm willing to be the cheaper guy actually does 10x better work.

Yeah, I will for sure be shopping around. Have you found any good online vendors with good pricing on the Borla's? If I just do an axle back Borla and leave ths tock midpipe for now it shouldn't be too loud should it?

Thanks!

bobby,

I wouldn't think so since I believe our midpipes have resonators in there now. The best prices I've found on Borla mufflers are at Wicked Nicky's.

Well, Bosal makes the SPT one from what I read and hear but I was thinking fo the actually Bosol exhaust like this one: http://www.oakos.com/Merchant2/merch...egory_Code=220
I know the mid pipe is too big for a N/A car but I would just try and sell the mid pipe and use the rear section.

That's nice, especially for the $$$. It would also need a hanger moved and the flange rotated to fit our RS'.

Yeah, I figured it might need a hanger moved and a flange rotated. I am sure that would be a $20-$30 job at the local muffler shop...I would hope anyway. LOL
