Default 300whp with Cobb Street Tuner.

Anyone know if these numbers are possible? What supporting mods i would need? I am currently running a catless turboback setup with the Accessport but I am looking for a bit more power. I was thinking a custom tuned map via the ST. Eventually I would like to upgrade to a bigger turbo, etc. but for now what can I do to increase power???

You hould be pretty close with that and the Stage 2 Cobb, so sure a StreetTuner should do it.

Aren't you within 10-15hp of that now with Cobb Stage 2?

STI already has 300 crank HP - stock.

Mine dyno'ed at just under 250 WHP stock, so I hope stage 2 and ST can get at least 300 WHP.

What else can i do besides ST with a custom tuned map? Any other supporting mods?

Do you guys really think i can squeeze another 15 to 20whp with just the ST and a custom map?

With an actual custom tune rather than Cobb's off the shelf maps, I bet you'll be able to create more peak HP...

Cobbs stock maps seem to create power under the curve, but reach a similar peak to the stock setup...with some proper tuning, I bet you could create a better curve with a higher peak...whether it picks up 10-15hp or not, I won't guess, but at lease yoou'll have a curve that keeps pulling and doesn't drop off too prematurely, of course within the bounds of the stock turbo..

thanks for the help, im thinking intake but im in no hurry for headers. so maybe intake, ST, and a nice tune will hold me over for a while... right. anyone else car to chime in? my other mods include oil temp, egt, and boost gauge, and front and rear swaybars.

You are in CA with bad gas. I am not sure if you could push the car to 300 WHP with stock turbo even if you had ST. If you had access to 93 OCT or above. You could get 300 WHP pretty easy with catless TBE setup. You may have to upgrade turbo, injector and fuel pump to get 300WHP.

I have access to 103 unleaded, and 111-117 leaded gas. I run on a mix of 91oct + 5 gallons of 111 leaded every couple of weeks or on track days. In this case i switch to the 93 oct map on my AP. I have considered purchasing the ST so that i can have a custom made map based on my actual gas mixture and maybe a short ram intake as well. Ideally my setup would include a custom "cali crap gas" + intake map and one for my race gas mix. Do you think with the race gas and intake i would be at 300whp?

Seriously.. when someone improves the Stage 2 Map PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I have ST but have been too busy to tune it. I think I may get around to it in a month from now.. but I would really like to see if anyone has improves the Stg2 map yet!?

Also, do you have any problems running leaded? Doesnt that stuff screw up valve guides and seals?

The Cobb Stg 2 will give you upwards of 280 Whp and 320 Wtorque. From there an intake and headers would probably get you to 300 Whp, but at the cost of a little torque.

i don't mean to chime in off subject but it kills me(ie makes me laugh) that everyone keeps saying headers instead of header(no s) because last time i check i only have one header and i don't think that subaru makes a car that has had or does have headers(meaning more than 1)

but back to the subject -- doesn't the stock turbo max out at around 280-290 whp because isn't only good for up to 350 crank horsepower--feel free to correct me if i am wrong--my flame suit is on my chair for quick access

your injectors should also be maxed out or passed their duty cycle at that point too--correct

i am not saying that it isn't possible but how long will your car actually last if you are maxed out on your equipment

Uhhh.. there are two exhaust headers. One on the left cylinder bank, and one on the right? You sir, are mistaken. In fact, ALL subaru cars start with 2 exhaust manifolds, and you can replace them with two exhaust headerSSSS!

Before you flame someone, know what the F you are talking about.

if you have an STi with catless tbe and AP and want more power, might as well get a new turbo. I was in your shoes once and didnt rest until it was done. Another option is to maximize the machine you have now, make sure your getting all the power from it. Go to a qtr mile track and see what your times are, your setup depending on variable intagible elements could be as low as 12.4 at 107, if you are running 13's you definitely dont need to mod your car anymore before you learn to drive it. Learn to get the most out of it, than mod the $hit out of it! Sorry for the opinionated suggestions

hey ranger
i WASN'T flaming anyone so just take a step back, calm down, & rub one out if you need too

i agree with what you said about the "cylinder banks" but not headers though

so when you replace your headers with an aftermarket header(no s) why are all of them just one piece making them a header(no s)or can YOU just replace one side/bank because they have headers--i mean it is just simple english--when you add a "s" to something that implies more than one--i know my english sucks but i atleast can understand that

my point was that they are all connected to make one (header) unlike a regular motor (ie v6 and up) which have a left and right bank

so if what your saying is true then a civic has headers because there is a left and right side but they meet in the middle to form one header or headers? kiss the ring

anyways this is totally off subject--i am done talking about this
