well, you'll have to narrow your choices on engines down. Pick one and we can shoot numbers at you.

or you don't kow what engine you want?

it can get to be a lot... I was going to make an EJ257 hybrid engine but it got to costly. EBay has stuff out there. You can get a WRX engine but you might need some trans work done or the WRX 4EAT trans and you will need exhaust work done. So thats like 4-5k for price... maybe more... Thats without labor.

if you get NA Ej25 wont be so bad
.....
Swaps aren't to bad but I wanted a lot of power and different engine and turbo parts so got to be a lot... so I bought a WRX off of my friend and putting my legacy for sale.

Stick with the stock engine swap. If you can find a used donor replacement for cheap, the actually mechanical swap is easy. Especially considering that you’re not modifying anything.

It took me 6 hours to prep the engine (and transmission) to come out of my Legacy. My buddy came over to help with the engine hoist, and in 5 minutes the motor was pulled. With only 3 mounting points, we were both very surprised how easily it just pops right out!
