Question Cobb stage 1 & 2 on an STI...

Does anyone in Mid-A have the Cobb Tuning Stage 1 or 2 (Accessport + Cobb turboback) on an STI?

If so what are your impressions? If you went with Stage 1 first what was that like?

Thanks!

I have Stage 1 right now and love it. It really is a noticable difference through all the gears. I purchased the Cobb downpipe the same time as the Accessport and will move on to Stage 2 whenever I get it installed. Stage 2 must be a beast because for me the car is ridicously fast now. Hope this helps.

Stage 2, 93oct with APS 3" catted exhaust and a modified intake with no silencer, 3" velocity stack, STI air filter, and Samco MAF hose. Love it.

Something used to open up the airway on the stock airbox to a true 3" and smooth the entry of the air a little. It also keeps the rubber ring intact so that you can later reinstall your silencer if you need to. I learned about it on Scooby mods.

usually, you see them on carburetted race cars, like this:

it's a tuned chamber which stills the air and helps fill the cylinders with as much air as possible. what they'd be doing on a turbocharged, fuel injected car is

as far as Stage II. I think WRXJim has a stage II and he runs something ridculous, like 11.90s a t 75-80 quarter mile track. Pretty impressive !

i also use a velocity stack, i did a snokel removal and it helps ensure you pull air from the fender instead of the engine bay. It is cobb approved thats why people opt to run with that.

I have stage 1 in my sti. I feel significant difference in tq, even before dyno testing. Dyno'd at mach V open house. apprx 235awhp and 260 awtq. is running real rich (10:1 a/f ratio from 3600 rpm to redline). another sti last year with stage 1 had better a/f and put down approx 255 and 280, respectively on the same dynojet dyno. money well spent, especially since the ap has several maps, and rich is better than lean. only downfall is no custom tuning with only accessport. with custom tuning, would have put down way better #s. plan on stg 2 with dp whenever i get mo' chedda'

I had stage I for about 2 months. It definately enhanced the performance over stock. Nothing drastic, but definately noticable. Power delivery just seemed smoother. After that, I went to Stage II with the 93 Octane Low Wastegate Map (I was overboosting) and oh man...sheesh, night and day difference. The boost just hits like crazy. My stage 2 set up uses the Turbo XS downpipe, high flow cat, and midpipe. I am using a prodrive round muffler to finish things off. I am also using a K&N typhoon filter, but I doubt there is any performance gain. Just noise gain . I should be satisfied with this setup, I don't race on the track or on the street, but I just like tinkering with my car. After 8 months with this setup I'm getting too used to it I wonder if Stage III will ever come out
