twisted, bro.

Default I'm getting new tires soon, is this the best choice?

Currently I have Toyo Proxes 4s in 225/45R17 and I'm not very happy with them. They have good grip wet and dry but not the maximum and I need maximum.

I was looking at T1-S in 255/45R17 until I realized those will shoot my speedo to heck and probably not fit under my fenders or on my wheels, plus really aren't all that great so here's what I'm looking at now:

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s in 245/40R17.

My rims are 17x8" +48 Enkei RP03s.

Anyone have experience with these tires? They can't be all that bad if they're OEM on alot of supercars. I've heard lots of good things about them and just wanted to know what other people thought.

One of my main concerns is weight. I know S03 Pole Positions are a comparable tire, but I know those things are like sacks of bricks when it comes to weight. I want a very good tire, but I don't want something that weighs more than my rims do!

If not the S03 Pole Positions or the Pilot Sport PS2s, what else is good that will get me the same level of wet/dry performance and still have some tread?

Patrick

I bet someone is gonna say Falken FK451. They should be comparable to what you are looking for.

Patrick.. the Michelins are gonna be an awesome tire, I am not sure but rolling the fenders on the rear may be necessarythe 48 offset may be ok though. Man those would look soooooo sweet on your car.

Over 9" wide

I know the 255's would be tight (besides they only fit on an 8.5" wide rim), but I'm pretty sure the 245s will be fine.

Plus they're not far from the original equipment sizes. Only 11rev/mile difference.

Are you aware of the effect taller tires will have on your car's acceleration? It's much bigger than the effect that a few pounds per tire will have.

How are they taller? I'm getting 245/40s and I have 225/45s right now.
