an NA 2.5 will max out at about the wrx stock hp unless you want to spend like 10k.
a wrx swap will START at that power and can only go up from there....

depends on your power goals...

I'd suggest WRX if I had the option. Just like staticfirtz said, unless you decide to go with some type of forced induction, a completely built up 2.5 will end where the WRX begins. I mean, if you wanna go crazy, I'd just suggest getting a 2.6 short block and build from there. That'd be nutso. But again, just do WRX. So many more options for you after the swap.

Let me correct myself. You are in the NA forum.
You should... just buy a wrx if that's what you want.

the thing is i like my body style, and dont want a new car, or need one, i know the powers of a wrx swap would be greater, but there is something about an all motor car that would be fun... i am just considering both...

just out of curiosity what would you be looking at cost wise to do a WRX motor swap? Hardware wise?

yeah I had a stage 2 2.5RS putting down 142 whp and 158 ft/lbs tq. Now I have a stage 2 WRX putting down 220 whp and 220 ft/lbs tq, and I spent less money on the WRX so far.
