Anybody know if you can use the Valet mode in the A/P to drive around on without harming your engine?
The reason I ask is that I share the ol, WRX with Wifey and I KNOW she get's after it and sooner or later it will bite her on the ass! Thanks Shotgun

Control freak eh? Dude, she's your wife, and the car is a car. Are you going to tell her you artificially reduced power on the car? Are you going to tell her, or pretend you have no idea why the car isn't as quick when she drives it? What other ways do you control the poor woman?
Sheesh. Quote:

Or maybe he doesn't want her to hurt herself?
of course, a better answer is driving schools, but to each his own... |

I've run my accessECU in valet mode a few times to test it out. Basically all Cobb does is artifically lower fuel cut to 4000rpm. When you hit 4000, fuel cut hits HARD. So hard that if you were in a tight turn at about 75% you would most definitely spin the car.....
I would stay away from letting your wife drive the car like that. It's downright dangerous for daily driving, let alone hell on your drivetrain from the bucking it causes at fuel cut. Also, it makes the car pretty much undriveable in most situations.... unless you enjoy getting killed while merging onto the freeway, hahaha. My 2 cents ![]() |

Make's sense, As I myself have lifted off going in a turn (too hot ) and slung the ass because of weight shift.Guess I will punch in stock mode. Shotgun |
