Ok i have an 01 RS that has a rear diff protector and im looking for a catback that falls into these catagories:
- fits w\my rear diff protector - doesnt look like a fart cannon, looks oem as much as possible, please no shinny "hello officer" catback - isnt horribly loud and not dead quiet, but gives that distinct subaru "sound" - and not very expensive...hopefully $450 and below...ill probably try to get a used setup though if i can - Also hopefully not loose much/any torque PS - i have looked thru the catback thread and still am... ![]()

i've been running the dual tip stromung for years, with the rear diff protector, and no issues. it looks nice, unlike the softball cannons that you always see around, fits the curve of the bumper well. (buy the stainless) i made the mistake of going mild-steel. never again.
sounds deep, but mellow unless you really mash it, and even then it's acceptable, unless you have headers, hi-flow cat, headwork, cams, etc, then who cares! ![]() |

only problem is the flat black one is the mild steel unit. it will rust away. the stainless is still very sadate looking, and won't attract the negative police attention. (i've had mine on for years, and never got pulled over for the exhaust.)

Stromung Dual Tip is just about the best you can buy.
