Your probably not going to like my answer either. I have to agree that its your car and this has been a problem that you have been able to deal with for a year now. Your dad, who I'm guessing has covered for you a number of times (just about every dad has unless he's an ass) comes along and doesn't do exactly as you ask. I'm sure you did everything as you were instructed by him as you were growing up If it was my dad we would probably split the cost since it was my car with a prexisting condition, yet he was the driver.

Must be the dad in me coming out. My son's turning five tomorrow and even at this age he doesn't do things eactly as I instruct him and then he breaks something. Luckily superglue works wonders.

Unhappy Sorry...

I'd have to agree. Even if it's his fault, he's still your father. I would ask to borrow the money, put up with the "I told you so" speech, and get it fixed. It doesn't seem like he's going to budge on getting it fixed, so you loose. Parents always win. Sorry.

well thanks guiys i am suckin it up and buying the part... as for ding as you are told.. Of course i didnt do everything i was told when i was younger i was a kid. but now i have a respect for other peoples things. as my father does. if i broke something of his now i would pay for it. and god knows if i jammed te key in his ignition i would have to pay for it. lets just hope i get an apology from him for doing it. he didnt even do that. my father has a hard time admitting when he is wrong. I only asked him to admit he broke it and i would pay to get it fixed.... and he said no. He didnt break it. Damn it, now i know how he felt when i was younger breakin **** of his.
Thanks for listening guys@!

dude, fix the dumb ignition and get on with the show. when i first had my eclipse turbo, my mom put a nice stripe along the side when she was trying to go around someone and the turbo kicked in pretty hard. i said "no problem" and it makes it much easier to get things done.

i think there's a certain age after which people, especially parents, should be forgiven more easily, unless they seriously screw up, like pouring cyanide in drinking water. hey wait, our president does that. never mind

Eat the cost of the new ignition. If you ever wanted to resell it you'd have to fix it then anyway.

Family is worth a lot more than a botched up car part.
