Default STI -> Mechanical LSD oil for differentials?

The service manual list that STI needs to use "Mechanical LSD Oil" for the rear differential unlike WRX where it can be replaced with 74W90 GL-5.

Does anyone know what would be the equivalent oil?

The Subaru Stock Parts # (K0904AA080) cost $24 for a bottle

Thanks!!!

You can use any gear oil with the correct viscosity meant for use with mechanical or plate LSD's. There are a ton of them out there. I used Amsoil Severe Gear 75/90 for my last diff fluid change and have been very happy with it.

majmun - Thanks! So, pretty much any 75W90 with LSD additive is ok for the differential. I assume then front trans takes the 75W90 without LSD additive?
