Default STI UTEC Question

Hi,
In the WRX Utec manual, there's a chart with Stage VS Boost Level VS RPM

Is there anything similar for the STI ?

Thanks
-Sam

hmm.it's not saying if boost should taper at redline.

You see..this is my gripe with the new TurboXs basemap. I don't understand why they're not doing the boost maping. They could use a number low enough nobody would overboost.. then you could simply scale the map to achive target boost.
Am I missing something obvious ?

what are you talking about? Scaling the boost map?

The basemap puts 375 in every cell, because on a stock turbo and solenoid, that usually works out to 16psi. Go ahead and do whatever you want with the map. Make it progress from 1 -> 100 -> 150 -> 200 -> 300 -> 375 based on throttle position, or whatever if you want, and make it taper toward redline if that's what you're comfortable with. The reality is that the stock turbo will taper to 16psi (if you're lucky) at redline no matter what you do. The basemap assumes running 16psi throughout.

I'm not saying it's recommended, but I cranked the basemap to 21psi or so in the midrange (where the turbo could actually produce that much boost), and made some timing tweaks and called it a day. I ran this way for a couple months before I swapped out the turbo and other junk and got a dyno tune.

Have a look at the base map for the WRX. It's the same mapping. 300's everywhere. But in the Instruction manual, they're saying we should taper our boost at redline. Why it's not done ?

You could always call them and ask. I suspect that the boost is going to taper no matter what you do though, or rather, that even a constant value of 300 everywhere will result in boost peaking at 14psi or whatever and trailing off to 11psi by redline. Maybe this is what they're talking about?
