Default arggg! help its my first day...

i attempted to install an egt and a a/f ratio gage today, started up and check engine light is on, cruise light is blinking... dont know what i did wrong! gages do seem to work, no indicatons. is it possible that this could be the wrong wire off of the o2 sensor? any ideas at all? also, where did anyone who did this splice in their power/illum/ground wires at, could it just be a bad ground?

I have no idea what the problem might be, but I would at least try resetting the ECU (disconnect the battery).

Ide start by undoing what you did. WHere did you tap in for the probe for your EGT and A/F guage? Did you already have bung in place for teh probes? Maybe you accidently left a sensor or so unplugged?

well, i undid what i did... talked with sam at xcceleration (real helpful guy! ) and he pretty much advised me against 'piggybacking' onto the stock o2 sensor b/c it always creates problems... i found that two of the wires on the plug for the egt were actually put in backwards! so i fixed the egt gauge and it works fine, and i will wait until i can order an a/f gage that comes with its own o2 sensor before i put that gage in i guess thx for the suggestions guys! btw, anyone know what a "max safe spec" for egt might be? thx...

Yeah I was kinda wondering if you had just spliced into the 02 or if you had a seperate one. EGT temp depends on where you are measuring it from. Are you using the factory EGT probe location in the uppipe or somewhere else?

i put the egt in the outlet of the header right before the uppipe--dont kjnow if this is a good place, but it seemed the most likely to get the most accurate readings
