Default I'm posting here because most here know John Felsted, What exhaust most sounds like..

his.

When I saw his first video posted a long while back I fell in love with that sound but I have never heard it quite the same over here (U.S.).

I'm now ready to buy and wanted your opinion as to which is closest in sound to his.

Thanks all!!

Drew

P.S. JOHN...thanks for the DVD, I enjoyed it (actually so did the wife... ).

Maybe mix a bit of SS w/Stromung, and a dash of Prodrive and we'd have it. Or maybe a catless SS setup with a resonator?

I have a Stromung DP and STI up, and want the sound/performance without the volume.

Pleasure Drew.

In most of my videos my car had the stock STi5 downpipe with cat and stock STi5 centre resonator section (looks like there is a cat in there but there isnt) and a scoobymania japanese style development back box (virtually no packing area so very light), only one in the world i am afraid. When i decated it the car howled like a banshi and was just to LOUD for me, so i changed to a quieter scoobysport (H&S) backbox.

Maybe on video it's hard to discern the true db levels, but it just sounds soo good.

John thanks again...the vid. of you explaining each turn set to music was brilliant!, and the very quick shipping...wow I didn't expect that kind of service!
Now we just have to find you another track that allows video cameras

With the cat and resonator in the noise wasnt too loud, without them it was rediculous.

It was a shame i didnt get to video my trip this easter, they linked up the Grand Prix track to the northern loop for the first time in years so we were doing 25.5Km laps. I was driving an Impreza STi RA with a 2.5 litre 550BHP engine, it was silly fast. (the car does 10.7s @ 130MPH 1/4 miles, second fastest ever in the UK.) I had a run out in Todd Straton's USDM STi too, fabulous car.

As long as someone has mentioned John's Ring DVD, I'll give it another plug.

Well worth the $$. If you don't have one yet, you're missing out on something fantastic.

thanks chaps. You can download a video from my website or buy my DVD for the exhaust sound.

I took Ben Lovejoy out for the last lap in the RA, you can read his trip report at http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/trip_r...p39/index.html it was quite an eventful Easter weekend.

It was a pleasure meeting John and the car's owner, Paul. Unfortunately, Paul had the pleasure of meeting the armco around Hatzenbach 2. Nothing a few days of parts of parts scrounging and wrenching by John and Paul couldn't remedy.

I was able to get a pax lap in the car and it definitely has mucho power--and the boost was only at 1 bar or so on that lap. Made my car feel downright slow.

My first lap of the year and I had John and Paul along for a ride. It was almost like I forgot the first few corners, but it started to come back...next time I'll have to demonstrate the proper way to get a USDM STi around the ring.

Hi Todd, thanks for the help, it was much apreciated. The lap i took you out on was the first time i had driven the car, i hadnt driven at all on the way over. 1 BAR was quick, 1.75BAR was just silly (GT35/40 turbo). You seemed to go pretty well to me for a first lap after the winter break. Hopefully we can meet up again later in the year.
