Unhappy How to test for boost leak?

Only getting 9psi on cobb stage 2. Cobb told me to check for vacuum leaks/intercooler leaks etc. Anyone know of an easy way to check for leaks?

Well, I am not sure why it worked...but adjusted the waste gate arm tighter 1.5 turns to increase the preload. Now holds 11-12 psi in 1st and second. Haven't tried a high speed run yet. But it is like completely new car.

It should be building more than that.

In 3rd or 4th (not sure which gear they used), you should see around 13.5psi tapering to 10psi... On your FXT, of course.

Are you running a BOV?

I am not running a BOV. Cobb told me I would not see target boost unless wot in 3rd and 4th gear. Haven't had a chance to test it out yet...too much traffic. I can say that 11-12 psi in 1st and second gear is a huge improvement to what I was getting. Before adjusted the waste gate tension, was only holding 9 psi in any gear.

That's really bad! Now that it's warmer I see 14.5-15psi with fxt stage 2.

Hey Zumble, do you have a manual or the auto? Not sure if it makes a difference, but it has always sounded like the manual runs rings around the auto, more than drive train losses would justify. Just wonder if autos have a more moderate tune/boost tune that the manual. As you might guess, mine is the auto

Also, do you get 14-15 in 1st and 2nd? Must be fun!

I have a manual. No, I don't see full boost in 1st and 2nd. I think those are limited to about 10psi in 1st and 12 psi in 2nd. The manual is as fast as it is because of the gearing. The 4 speed auto probably has wider gearing than the close ratio 5 speed. The 5-speed FXT revs up really fast. I hit 16psi once when it was about 30 degrees outside. That was in 5th gear chasing a vette. I think I gave him a bit of a scare. I knew I hit 16 because my overboost warning is set at 16. I heard the beep and the light flash for a split second. I recalled the peak and it was at 16. =)
