Default Need hood scoop painted!

Anyone know a good place to get a brand new un-painted sti scoop painted factory mpb??? Around portland or lake oswego would be great. I called a few places and they wanted to charge me 300.00 to paint it. I told them they had to be kidding- i even explained it was off the car and everything....they just gave me the line about having to prep and materials and all. After having two cars painted I am beginning to hate paint guys who try and rip people off

I don’t wanna make excuses for rip off artists, but there’s nothing cheap about paintwork. $300 sounds a bit high, but you have to remember the Pros are working on $5000 insurance jobs all day, their gonna want 300 bucks just to get their gun dirty. I do some body and paint work and even on the cheap you’re looking a $150 or so. You gotta figure $50+ in materials… degreaser, scotch-brite, base, clear, reducer and hardener for both, wash thinner and such (a lot of this has to be bought in quart or larger sizes). And about 2 hours time for prep, booth prep, spray, gun clean up and possible buff out. I work cheap (normally about $25-30/hour) and I’d want least $125 (more if it turns out to be spendy paint, or tricky to spray). For a job like that I’d look around for a guy like me that does work out of his home shop.

prepwork is 90% of your paint job.

parts of my car are getting repainted right now.
front lip paint and install
and a rear bumper painted is going to run me over 600

I am getting a Kaminari Reverse cowel hood, so I won't be needing a scoop any more. I am going to keep one of them incase I decide to go back to stock. I have a psm stock 02 scoop or slightly larger than stock cf one... I am not sure what either would be worth, but if you want one of them hit me up. I am sure we can work something out.
