Default Do any of our Mid-A vendors sell the Autometer Nexus gauges?

Cheaper than the Defi, and they do data logging and a few other cool things, I think this is what I am going with...

I would prefer to buy from a Mid-A vendor if possible in the spirit of helping out NASIOC(ers) in our local area.

Default Not sure...

Cheaper seems to be the consensus, there is a post in interior/exterior where a guy had the control box/remote and Boost/EGT gauges installed at a dealership for $1k, he said the parts themselves were just under $700....

I say "meh" unless they are really a lot chaper for just the parts. I can do the install myself.

I will say that I'm a DEFI fanboi.

Labor is also always free at install parties.

And thank you for that

IMO the color changing trick with the autometers is a little too ricey. As for prices on Defi's..if you cant get em from MachV then...

http://www.gruppe-s.com/Defi/defimeter.htm

These DO have some cool features other than the color change thang.

So do the Autometer ones, I am not too concerned with the color change, I am more interested in the ability to do data logging to an SD memory card which you can then read on your computer.

That ability alone is worth it to me...

Are you sure you aren't just infected with the "JDM itch:???

SAY WHAAAAAAAAAAAT!?!?

wow thats pretty nifty. I can't think of any reason I really need to save the data so I can view it on my computer, but its neat nontheless...

Default Hmmm...

Well tuning is a pretty good reason... As the proud owner of an AccessPort I plan on getting some AccessTuner sweetness and tweaking things myself, being able to log your WOT runs is a pretty cool feature for road tuning methinks.

Don't get me wrong, the Defi gauges are the hotness.

I meant that the AUTOMETERS do have some cool features. Not neccesarily JDM itch, just cheap parts itch. I got mine from Jard for 400

UTEC does that, wont the street tuner? Not hating, they do seem pretty cool.

ya most people with all these gauges have some kind of tuning or datalogging capability already. Logging your EGT's by themselves isn't all that useful IMO. Now If it has a possible wideband integrated, and an rpm graph laid on top, THAT is useful.

Even if it does just plugging a memory stick into my car is a lot more convienent than driving around wiht a laptop hanging out of my OBD-II port!

The AccessTUNER for the STi reads all the data you would need from the ECU. It however does not do all this for the regular WRX.

From Cobb's Site:
Quote:
Dashboard
Get instant vital statistics while tuning using the StreetTUNER floating dashboard. Simply move the dashboard into an area most convenient for your use and continue to make adjustments to your map data. The Dashboard will show you critical data such as Load, RPM, Engine Coolant Temp, Knock, A/F, and more. All data is displayed in an easy to read digital format. StreetTUNER software

Datalogging
Capture and save critical engine parameter data. When in datalogging mode, the StreetTUNER software will capture the data you specify and store the information in a industry-standard .csv format file. This means you can easily import it into any standard Spreadsheet software to view, graph, and share with others.

Available Dashboard / Datalogging Parameters
The following values may be logged and/or displayed on the Dashboard while tuning. The parameters used by the Dashboard and Datalogging can be adjusted independently from eachother (ie: what you display on your dashboard can be different from what you datalog if you so desire).

# Engine Load
# RPM
# Relative Boost Pressure
# A/F Ratio (from factory sensor)
# A/F Ratio (from external device/wide band)
# Ignition Timing
# Advance Timing Map (Knock Correction)
# Ignition Advance Multiplier
# Injector Pulsewidth
# Engine Knock
# A/F Correction
# A/F Learning
# AVCS Advance Angle Right / Left
# Gear Position
# Alternator Duty
# Intake Air Temperature
# Mass Air Flow (g/sec)
# MAF Voltage
# Throttle Position
# Barometric Pressure
# Wastegate Duty Cycle
# Coolant Temperature
# Manifold Absolute Pressure
# Vehicle Speed
# Fuel Pump Duty Cycle
# Idle Speed Control Valve Duty Cycle
That download thing to me is still "meh"

ha, actually no, for the one that doesn't run.

The redcar is supposed to drive away into the sunset tomorrow, so that frees up a little fun money.

one thing the nexus gauges don't have is the ability to buy one single display and not worry about ricing out your vehicle with a gazzilion ugly purple gauges.

Actually if I could save a good 50-100 bucks on these, I would get them over the DEFI's.

But, the deal I found on the defi's is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the prices I saw for the nexus gauges from a quick search just now (not to say that won't change after the NEXUS gauges have been around for a bit).
