Default BIG car crash and an impreza was involved!

i just saw the channel 2 6 o'clock news and black impreza was really smashed up. They said that a big rig hit it or something. It wasnt fatal so thats good. Anyone else see it. If you are out there please respond. We dont want to worry like we did the last time a impreza was involved in a ar crash.

Andy

I saw a black GC8 on the side of the freeway one day, but I don't think this is it, it was a 98 (gold rims) and it seemed like a mere fender bender.

Wow, that's lame. <thinking, I wonder if I can get his rear transverse links, sway bar and mounts.... and transmission>

I wonder how much his insurance will go up? And if they'll want to add a "no giving rides to drunk morons" clause.

Question

WTH, yanking the side brakes on an AWD while driving? hmmmm...must have been a rally driver or something. probably trying to drift in a straight line.

Smile Update.....

Howdy everyone,

I was the paramedic who responded to that call. I'm not sure of the specific model of Impreza it was, but I don't believe it was an RS. At any rate, the car did it's job. Both occupants were conscious and alert, although the male who pulled the e-brake wasn't very talkative. The whole front end was smashed in and the driver's side door was wedged by the front fenders, making it difficult to open it. Both of the occupants were wearing their seatbelts and the airbags did open. Both of them were brought to Stanford, but I don't know what their final diagnosis was.

Tough little car, the Subaru. I'm glad I bought another one.

Best regards,

Lon

Default it was a WRX

The short story is, I heard the wrecked Sube is a WRX.

Long story is... I was at Carlsen on Friday to check out the WRXes. Their sales manager was telling me that they're not letting people test drive the WRXes anymore partly because of that crash (the other reason being high miles). Apparently, that car was bought at Carlsen not long before. They have also had two other incidents with WRXes getting wrecked quickly off of the lot.

When we were first looking at the WRX's over the last two weeks, we were told the same thing up in San Rafael. We had asked the salesman if we could schedule a test drive and he said hesitantly, "Well, are you planning to go far? There's a lot of milage on our car".

I responded, "Uh... it's not like I'm asking to drive this car to Sacramento or anything. Just a quick spin around San Rafael. You know... 2-3 miles just to make SOME TYPE of educated decision before I plunk down $26K (MSRP) for one of your cars"

Salesman, "Well... (heavy sigh) I guess it would be okay."

What the heck was that all about?! Clearly the saleman will be in the car while we test drive it and I'm sure they'll tell me where to drive. Luckily I hooked up with another salesman that said his coworking was full of crap and let me take a nice 5-mile spin about the hills over San Rafael.
