Default why is the pdm racing intake for 2000 and up?

http://www.pdm-racing.com/products/subaru_corner.html

its almost to the end of the link above. if it is just a pipe coming off the airbox why would it not fit 99 and lower?

ok but the maf comes after the pdm intake. so i dont get why it would matter. the maf is in the plenum. the pdm attaches to the end of the plenum

If your car is a late '99 2.2L with California Emission controls it may have the same MAP style intake (no MAF sensor at all) like all of the 2000 and up Imprezas. In that case it should fit fine. But if your car has as MAF sensor assembly near the the passenger side fender then it will not.

Ok, on a pre 2000 2.5 liter, the MAF sensor sits at the fender by the airbox, so it won't work on those cars. On certain 99 2.2 liters (but not all), the car uses the same MAP sensor that is at the throttle body. If your car does not have an airbox at the fender, then you could use this intake.
