Default ok guys im still getting alot of knock according to j&s emanage question

ok so i hooked up egt yesterday, egts in cyl 3 are max like 1250 at 4psi
this is even with j&s retarding the crap out of the timing what gives
i tried wiring up the emanage wit the j&s but i cant get the car to start for crap will start the first time the wires are hooked up then after that it turns over like forever and would rarley start but only when i let off the key would also backfire while trying to start right as i let off the key, so now i have j&s taking care of the timing but its retarding wayyy to much, what gives, its hooked up right, tried changing jumper settings on jumper 2 but nothing happens

I run both a J&S and emanage.

Try hooking the timing up in the reverse order than you had. I added the J&S after I did the emanage and the car would not start as you describe. I tried wiring them up in the opposite order and it worked great. ie the timing goes through one and then the other - try switching them. Its worth a try.
