Default got 2 speeding tickets.. what should i do?

Hey guys, I recently got 2 tickets within a month (yes I'm an idiot I know!).. one for going straight on a right turn only (downtown San Jose) and the other for speeding. I was going to do the usual, set up an apperance date to see the judge, and plead guilty so they will lower my fine. But since I have 2 tickets, should I go for both tickets or should I do them 1 at a time? I'm afraid the judge won't be so lenient since I got 2 within a month. Anyone ever been in this situation?

never been in that situation. But i would go to court and see what happens. Hopefully the cop wont show up. But if everything goes bad ask for traffic school for one. Hope it works out for you

ok this is what happened to me last year....i got popped on I80 doin 130+ (dont bother flamming me, i dont wanna hear it ) so i got the ticket for doing 80+ since the cop didnt wanna bother w\me and wanted to go home...i didnt pay it or anything, just took the traffic school online...then maybe a month later or so a cop pops me for rolling thru a stop sign next to my house...so i got 2 tickets right? well since we're in CA...we're not supposed to be able to do traffic school more than once within 18 months...i guess since i hadn't paid off my 1st ticket the case wasnt closed and they didnt know...so i guess what im trying to say is this...dont pay them off yet u have 3 months to do so...take the traffic school online, cheat ur ass off (its sooo damn easy and takes 10min and 20$) then pay 1 off at the last few days before its due and pay the 2nd ticket off before its due BUT take the traffic school online for them both...thats what i did and it doesnt show anything on my record for 2 tickets or violations at all gotta love jerkin' around CA for them screwing me over so much hehe and BTW...the tickets didnt show up on my insurance either

maddhatteroo7: I heard that if you get a ticket in a different county, and you get another ticket within 18 months in another county, then you can go to traffic school for them both because they do not share the same database of traffic violations. So in your case, you got a ticket in Truckee County correct? And then got another one in Santa Clara County then you can take traffic school for each of them.

Also, can you clarify how you took only 1 traffic school for both tickets? Sounds like a great idea lol.

PS. about 14 months ago I got a ticket on I80 as well (85 in a 65) when I went to Tahoe. Now I just got 2 tickets, 1 about 3 months ago, and 1 about 2 months ago. I can still take traffic school for the ticket I got 3 months ago, but I'm not sure about the latest one. Hopefully I can pull off something like what you did. ahah

well this is what happened to a friend of mine: he got a ticket for going 90 in a 70 in kern county and a 85 in a 65 in ventura county, both within a month of each other. he got the courtesy notices pretty much at the same time. each notice required him to sign an affidavit (sp) saying that he had not taken traffic school in the past 18 months. he hadn't so he signed both and took 2 online traffics schools. he never got any points =)

Find a good lawyer. A friend of mine had 6 tickets in the last year. With his lawyer he still has 0 points on his record. Sure he paid a retainer, but it paid for itself considering no increase in insurance premiums. I guess the old adage stands true...you gotta pay if you wanna play.
