Default part number? advice

looks like we have some corroded ignition wires/leads/coil or something that threw a CEL on our 2000 2.5RS (slight misfiring on 2 cylinders, P0301 and P0302). the dealer wants $350 (diagnosis was $100 on top of that) to fix it up all good and I think that's a stupid amount of money.

does anyone have the part numbers for the ignition coil? wires, etc. and would you reccomend this as a DYI job? I have minor mechanical apptitude ....or is $350 from the dealer an ok price?

thanks for you help

You can change it yourself it is not that hard. Only three 10mm bolts that hole the ignition coil to the intake manifold.

As for the part numbers:

22433AA410 is for the coil about $160.57 well that is the list price i think you can get it for $122.35 at subaruparts.com.

And I can't remember the wires part number but they run ~$50 for the set.

buy the wires first and see if it fixes the problem i doubt the coil is bad unless you have alot of miles like 150k plus i also have an extra pack if you want to try it t see if that is the problem

my wife brought the car home from the dealer and we checked it out. looks like some corrosion on the coil on #2. scrubbed it off with a wire brush. #1 looked brand new... CEL went away, for now... dealer says they replaced plug wire #1 because it "wouldn't run, shorted to ground" ..... not sure about that, the wires all looked the same to me... and #1 on the coil was spotless.

curious why the leed on #2 would be corroded? is that an indication of it going bad?
