Default Poll: cobb 2.5 PnP or not

I am not sure if i should put this under the aftermarket turbo section or the engine management, but it's kinda related to both.

I've done many searches about cobb 2.5 with a PnP turbo, vf34/vf30 and didn't see many usefull results. I guess I am just starting this poll to see what everyone's running.

Please, if you do have any positive/negative comments about either setup, post it up..

thanks

I have been trying to get the same info. The TD04 vs VF34 thread in 2.0L forum is getting off track. But it look like the P&P on a vf34 will get a decent reduction in spool time. I still want to know how close to a Cobb stage 2 I will spool with a P&P VF34 stage 2.5? Also I will have silicon hoses and bigger TMIC and AccessTuner to custom tune.

if you can't tune for a PnP, it's not worth it IMO.

That's why I would get AccessTuner, that would allow me to tune for P&P and other parts. I've heard the Trey Cobb also says that his flashes will learn to use a P&P turbo, but I'm not sure how well it works compared to custom tuning for it.

a custome tune will always be better than a learned one.

Yes it will, but that's not the issue here. The starter wants to know if P&P of a vf34 is worth it and I want to know how close to stge 2 td04 spool on a P&P vf34 I can get with the right parts, work and tune. Like would the injen cross pipe and P&P manifolds help spool?

Pnp manifold and injen cross pipe will help some, but IMO your money and effort is spent elsewhere. You can get GREAT spool without ever touching the manifold, the manifold isn't the restriction in the equation.

The following should be on your list for the fastest spool on the vf34:

PROPER TUNE-this is the most important
pnp
helper spring-just enough to help spool/elminate flutter, no boost spikes
IC hoses
better than stock IC
heat wrap turbo

Doing the above things with a VF34 will get you damn close to the spool of a TD04.

is the helper spring absolute needed for vf34? I haven't heard many people using that? Since the vf34's wastegate is not adjustable compare to td04 i though it would cause less problem. Haven't heard many people complain about wastegate flutter/spike with vf34 on cobb 2.5 map.

I have a P&P'd vf30 and v7 STi tmic and I think my car spools pretty close to when I was running the stock turbo (stage 2). I'm looking into the helper spring mod and a custom tune before the end of this summer, which I think would put me even closer.

I personally had some bad flutter with my vf34.
