I've started on mine, but what's with this kit? It has very few parts compared to other kits. Looks like it will be very simple to put together.

I've had that kit for over a month now. I'm so disappointed in Tamiya.....It's a nice kit but *shrugs*

I also found one at my local hobby shop but it was 25$!! That's wack. (next time when I go back to Taiwan, tell me what tamiya kit you want for only $12!! And yes, it's real tamiya not fake.) Anyway, btapper, did you use air brush? I use air brush and it takes me maybe 5 coat to make it looks shiny. So what kind of pain to you use? Gloss?

The hobby shop didn't have the proper mica blue, so I did mine in black....

I'll do the 22B I haven't done yet in blue....

It was a surprisingly simple kit as far as Tamiya is concerned...no warpage, and everything fit like it was supposed to...I'm about 80% done though, and it's only been 1 day.

Yup, some of the newer Tamiya kits are "simplified" (read no engine detail) due to the higher costs of the kits on the market nowadays (exchange rates/plastic supply/tooling costs).

Would you spend $35 for the same kit with an engine? It's a recent trend by the car kit manufacturers, they figured it's simpler, cheaper, and easier for them and the everyday modeller.

Too bad, the detail on the engines on the older kits are astounding. Then again, it probably saves about 3-10 hours of extra building.

I still prefer engine detail...that's why I haven't gotten the kit. Plus I don't see a Tamiya version of the wagon.
Details, details, I'm a hardcore modeller!

There is no 1/24 scale plastic 22B model to date. If you want to have one, you have to convert the Tamiya WRC kit into one.
I still don't understand why Tamiya skimped on this STi kit, but oh well....hoepfully we'll see the '01 WRC car soon......

Just visited the HLJ site, and just a guess, but the Tamiya model # for the new age STi sedan may be: 24231.
