Ok, i was just introduced to the wonderful work of wi. For someone who know absolutely nothing about it other than it sounds like a great idea, what kit should i buy and exactly what other components do i need? I would like to use the windshield fluid tank for the kit.
Help me out guys, i need websites, kit models and components to get me up and running. I'm going in for tuning next week and would like this set up before then. Thanks,

Hop over to http://www.aquamist.co.uk/cp/cp.html and take a look at their kits. IMO, the 2d would be a great choice. It's also really expensive.
Then there's a bunch of other kits out there, mostly based around Shurflo pumps. Companies like SMC and Cooling Mist sell these, or you can build your own. IIRC, RiftsWRX here has instructions on how to do a homebrew kit on his web site, and a quick google'ing found this page here: http://members.cox.net/stevemonroe/AlcoholInjMod.html that's still one more version of the same idea. Proportional control is a required feature for me, so I'm going to keep using Torco for my octane-enhancement needs until I either find a sweet deal on a 2d or make the time to build my own programable injection controller (to go with a custom shurflo-based kit). Google is your friend. There's a water injection forum link off the Aquamist page, and I've heard the coolingmist.com dude is also super helpful. |

Snowperformance.net has a "proportional" MAF kit.

A water injection setup is really not something to be slapped on in a couple of days. You need to take a bit of time to understand the concepts behind it and the many options out there. In addition to the above Aquamist has an open water injection forum at :
http://www.aquamist.co.uk/phpBB2/index.php It encourages input from any WI user. There is a couple weeks of reading available on that site alone. There are also MANY WI threads right here and on the other subaru forums only a search away, We've been seeing maybe 1 a week now for quite a while. Take a couple of days to get up to speed on what WI and alcohol injection are all about then make your choices with an informed base of understanding. You'll be much happier with your setup in the long run if you do. Larry |
