Default JDM Forester Turbo Engine Swap?

Hi,

I tried searching, but to no avail;
Is anyone familiar with the 1998 JDM Subaru Forester Turbo? My stock engine spun a bearing and I was offered the JDM one for $2000 and the seller claims it will push 260HP and be readily compatible with my '99 2.5RS. Is this true? Is it a good engine to swap? I would really appreciate any information on this engine and its suitability for a swap.

Thank you for replying!
The package includes:
Engine, fuel pump (walbro), Turbo, IC, Downpipe, front crossmember, ECU, wiring harness... Basically everything I should need, for $2475 shipped to my location. Does that sound like a good deal? Is this a good engine to have?

its not every thing you should need there is ALWAYS more crap to get ..

you will probably want a usdm WRX dp as the jdm dp is shorter and usdm length exhaust are readily available

make sure its the bulk head harness not just the engine harness you need all the stuff under the dash too

only 3 real questions
how do they do emissions where you live?
where are you going to find the wiring diagrams
will he give you a start up guarantee

a WRX STi engine (2500cc with 300hp) will be sufficient to create Forester STi... JDM use same engine, with 6 spd too ^^

The only difference is JDM claims 260 to the wheels and puts 260 to the wheels the USDM claims 300 and puts 240~260 to the wheels!!

No emissions testing what so ever where I live
There is a start up guarantee
I don't know where to find the wiring diagram from. I am trying to find it or get it from them. They have the wiring diagram for the JDM WRX, and they said it should be basically the same. They also said that the downpipe should bolt right up to my RS cat converter and exhaust, but I might look into getting a used WRX downpipe anyways.
Does this engine really make 260HP at the wheels? I find that hard to believe with a T04 turbo.

Yeah. As far as I can tell the only difference between the JDM Forester Turbo and the JDM WRX is that the Forester uses a TD04 and the WRX a TD05. There could be more stuff though.
Allright, so I'll get the downpipe. Anything else you can think off besides the mentioned Motor, Crossmember, ECU, Wiring harness and fuel pump?
