its a nice sound im sure but you can get any muffler put and sound just as nice. i just dislike this muffler alot becasue of the rolled tip, looks horrible. apexi N1 maybe? angle it a little and bam MAD JDM yo! seriosly thought $375 for just the axle back seems high...IMO

I have the legacy specific SPT/Bosal exhaust on my car. I personally love the rolled tip and think that the N1 styles look ghetto!

Anyways, I have Borla headers and Stromung resonated midpipe with the SPT axelback portion. I think it sounds badass and the whole combo definitely helped add some ponies.

I got mine used though. I don't think I would spend that kind of money for a new one, but I don't think I would spend that much for an exhaust period.

I have the older style SPT muffler that says "2.5RS" on the tip. Its a nice piece with a low rumble. I would not however pay $375 for one or any muffler for that matter.

I have the Apexi N1 and it's a loud bitch...

Attracts too much attention for too slow of a car.

N1 is a fart can. stupid looking as all hell. and too large diameter piping for the N/A. that one there looks nice, borla is similiar. or you could get a WRX take off.

too large diameter piping? n1 is the style of the muffler it has no relation to the piping. and i think the apexi that 99subi has is 2.25 which is "optimal"

Right on, Apexi N1s for the RS are have a 2.25" ID.

It's my Borla Headers + Stromung High Flow Cat that aren't just being muffled enough. Bugs the hell out of me when I need to drive uphill for a mile in a neighborhood at 2 in the morning to get to me house.

And when I get on it, sounds super loud with no rumble. Sounds almost Hondaish.

Sure the N1 is a fart can but it is not "stupid looking as all hell." Apex N1=JDM, Subaru= Japanese. You do the math. N1 style cans on cavaliers, etc etc look rediculous.

I had the SPT/BroSpeed axleback on my RS up until a few months ago. Bought it with the car.

It sounded and looked nice (and I like the rolled tip -- hate some aftermarket, huge-tip, crooked-hanging exhausts), but the pipe diameter was a stock 1.875" .... So performance wasn't helped a bit, over the stock exhaust.

In hindsight it was a poor purchase, for that reason alone. I'm not sure if SoA offers this newer SPT exhaust in 2.25".... but if it's smaller than that, I'd say don't buy it.

Completely agree. It's a great looking piece but the pipe diameter is ridiculous.

hmm 375 dollars on an axle back. just invest one more hundred and get a full cat back. I have a JIC Bullet and I love it low rumble and does not drone on the freeway. most importantly it does not sound like a honda!!!

I coulda sworn the midpipe that was mated with the N1 on my car when purchased was 2.5inch. Maybe it was a different mid pipe. ::shrug:: Either way its still way too big of a tip, but thats just my opinion of the matter. Dont really care if you agree or not.
