Impreza GC8 what MIL fix to buy

Hello all,

Have a 97 impreza that im looking to put "hi flow" cats in.....

in other words, replace the cats for pipes. Since i have the two O2 sensors i need a fix to keep from getting the CEL error. Please suggest.

Of course it is Naturally Aspirated

Thanks

Cory

Custom or aftermarket cat?

I'm not sure you'd need a fix. Either way, I'd wait till you need one before you try to fix it. It's kind of cart before the horse is'nt it?

I thought about that too but I replaced the air/fuel and rear o2 and my cel is gone.

If ur getting rid of ur cats completely I don't think there's a fix for it. I have read about 4 or 5 MIL fixes for high-flow cats/headers and ppl have had mixed results with each one. I say just put ur pipe in but hang on to ur stock cats. The CEL isn't anything to worry about (i think). The only time ur gonna need that CEL off is when emissions time rolls around. Then u would just put the stock cats back on and reset ur ECU. Go pass ur emissions test and put the track pipe back on. Seems to b the only 'fix' with consistent results.

Good luck to ya.

I was under the assumption that the MIL fix worked for hiflow and catless installs. I thought it just fed the ECU the voltage it normally looks for or whatever the technical term is.
