Default Scan of Headlight Wiring Diagram from '02 Service Manual

Just thought this would help out for many of the headlight/switch/DRL wiring issues.

Good info!

I'm currently considering trying to put the DRL function over to the fog lites, from the low beams...over in this thread

Some of the switch terminal designators have me stumped...

On Dimmer & Passing Switch, there are four terminals--
HF--Headlamp Flash, I'm guessing...energizes the hi beam relay
HU--Upper, or high beams...completes ground path for hi beams
HL--Low beams? doesn't show any connection on diagram, however.
E---Earth, for ground

On the Lighting Switch, three terminals showing--
HC--energizes the DRL relay (completes path to ground)
TC--?? shows no connection to anything on diagram..
EL--connection to ground

Any idea on the "HL" and "TC" terminals? I don't like assuming they are "unused"...automotive "pictorial" schematics always make me wonder what might have been left out...

Yes, diagram shows connection goes through the DRL relay to low beams.

Sorry, this is only the Headlight System page. TC handles the parking lights and is covered under the Parking Light pages. There are additional relevant pages under the Power section (where the headlight relays are covered), Fog Light section, etc, but I figured this would cover 95% of the questions.
I will try to post the Fog Light System page below.

Holy Kamoley!

You're correct---your diagram does show the "HL" terminal running to #5 on DRL relay! I was looking at my print-out from my MY04 eBay disk...it shows nothing on the "HL" terminal, and it shows #5 on DRL relay as going direct to ground...yipes, looks like there's a difference from your MY02 manual to the MY04...arg!

I'm not sure how much I would trust the ebay manual unless you've compared it with known good MY04 manuals.
You might want to spring for the $35/72 hour techinfo.subaru.com download deal and download the MY04 headlight/DRL/fog/etc pages from there, along with any errata.
