Default Where to dump tires in Calgary?

I have a set of tires that I want to get rid of. They still have tread, but not much.
Is there and where is there a place in Calgary where I can dispose of them?

well they are Pirelli Pzero 205/45/17. was mounted on 17x7 rims.
On 2 of the tires they have about 1 mm before they reach the tread indicator on the inside of the tire. On the other 2 they have reached the tread indicator on the inside of the tire. All 4 tires have lots of tread on the outside part of the tire before the tread indicator.
BTW I never used these tires, I just got them with the new rims I bought.

Is it illegal just to put them out with the regular trash? I would assume so.

What kills me is every time you buy a tire, they charge you a $4 disposal fee for each tire. But then they won't pick them up at the curb or make you pay to take them to the dump

But the dump may be the best option. Or else turn them into tire swings for all your friends for Christmas

I checked the city of Calgary web site and found the following:
"Four tires or fewer can be taken to any City landfill for recycling. More than four tires can only be taken to the City's Shepard landfill." It would appear that the service is free for 4 or fewer tires. You can also try a local tire shop.
If you ask nice they will often add your tires to their pile. Throwing them in a field is not an option.

I've been promising the kids a marshmallow roast for a while...

Who needs a fancy fire-pit?

Some of my neighbors are convinced I'm white trash anyway with all the car parts laying around; might as well confirm their worst fears

Then you haven't seen my neighbour. He has an 85 Toyota MR2 sitting in the back yard. He says "All it needs is a new engine, tranny and a new body"
It's completly rotted out!
