Or they just shop smart(salvaged auctions), my first swap was well under 2 grand, and I hadn't owned a single Subaru before it.

The salvaged car was $2100. Between doing the work myself, and selling off parts I didn't need from the wreck, I came out well under 2 grand in money spent on the swap.

This was back at the end of 2001 about 5 months after the release of the WRX. I've heard of wrecks going for cheaper than what I paid nowadays.

My swap is ganna cost me about 9k including the car. For 7k i'm getting all this:

-93 L


Engine:
-EJ205
-stock 02 wrx ecu
-stock 02 wrx engine wiring harness
-stock 02 wrx shifter linkage
- PLUS a complete EJ20g

Transmission:
-2001 Legacy GT AWD tranny (4.11) with matching rear LSD and driveshaft. It needs axles though.

Suspension:
-KYB AGX adjustable struts
-5zigen springs
-STi Group N strut top mounts
-Cusco Front strut tower bar
-Cusco Rear strut tower bar
-Cusco Rear V-brace
-FHI 20mm rear sway bar

Brakes:
-JDM red 4 pot calipers and pads.
-Stock 02 wrx rear brakes(calipers, brackets, rotors, pads)

Wheels and Tires:
-Prodrive P7 wheels powdercoated gold w/ 225/45/17 Toyo Proxes 4.

Interior:
-Stock RS seats besides the driver's seat. That one is still the stock L seat.
-STi Titanium piston shift knob
-2.5 RS floor mats
-alpine CD player(not sure what model, older one though)
-Alpine Type S 6.5 speakers up front
-Alpine Type S 5x7 rear speakers
-Infinity Reference 12" subwoofer in a sealed box
-US acoustics mono block amp.
-PLUS a 98 dash.

Exterior:
-VIS Racing Carbon Fiber Hood. No CF vents or scoops though
-Replica 22b vents
-stock aspen white hoodscoop
-Ver. 4 front bumper face
-Clear Ver. 4 bumper lights
-JDM lightweight bumper beam
-Hella 500 foglights with kartboy mounts (No wiring for it)
-2001 crystal clear headlights
-DIY clear corners
-Stock RS sideskirts
-STi Aspen White passenger fender to replace the damaged one.

I'm picking all this up next weekend i hope. Do you guys think this is a good deal?

can anyone buy at salvage auctions? and if I can how do i go about that? It would be so easy to just buy a wreck and rip it apart for around 2K or less.

It depends on your state, some have laws that you need a license. I found out about them in my state by talking to some guys at a body shop.

just got my 04 ej20 w/18k miles complete w/ harness, up-pipe, down-pipe, ecu, legacy turbo crossmember, radiator, all sensors, mid section of the exhaust $2,900, cant wait to start the wiring! ha ha kyle
