Default header climate question

Does anyone have any experience with the cobbtuning headers for the 2.5 rs? They seem good on paper, but they're made outta mild steel, not stainless, so I wondering how long mild steel can be expected to last in a climate like philadelphia? Plus, if anyone has 'em on their car, do they seem to make a noticeable difference, or should I just go with the cheaper Borlas? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

My friend has them on his 00', I have the borla and they suck ass they keep breaking. They are definatly worth the money but don't sound like a boxer. I can over look that though. Supposedly they gain like 16 or so whp and around that in tq. The borlas are half that. About the mild steel he didn't coat his but he hasn't driven it much because he got his roll cage put in and other crap, it's not his daily driver. Honestly I'd spend the money and send it out to Jet hot. I'm pretty sure once you get that coated by them they have a lifetime warrenty or some sort of good warrenty on them.

I have COBB headers. absolutely luv them. I'm in CA.. and are uncoated....[mainly cuz of the price] Luckily I don't have to worry about harsh winters. I say get them, and get them coated. Either Jet Hot, or COBBs coating, or another vendor...

these luv heat. the hotter the better...

Chris.

cool, thanks for the info. Thats good to know about the borla headers, I was thinking about going with them cause they're so much cheaper, and they're made in stainless steel, but the dyno reports with the cobb headers were better.
Do you think jet hot will be cheaper then getting them coated from the cobb, who'll charge about an extra 200?

well I don't know how good cobbs coating is but I know jet hot knows what they are doing. Like I said before I think jet hot has some sort of warrenty, so it may be better just in case the coating somehow gets ruined, wich I don't think it will but you never know.
