Default engine knock

I seem to be getting a knock in my engine even after it is warmed up. It is present at idle but, when i accelerate under load, the knock is audible and seems to maybe even be louder than at idle. After driving for 20 minutes, it seems to go away a bit but it still seems to be there. I did a compression test and a vacuum test but neither test uncovered any problems. The compression is fine as well as my vacuum. Any ideas? Everytime I talk to the dealer, they tell me that it is normal but it seems awfully loud to be normal. What should my next step be in figuring out if my engine is truly damaged internally?

haha, yeah, I know Subarus make some funky noises and can be loud but this seems a bit too loud to be normal. I did change the spark plugs to the NGK coppers that are direct replacement for OEM. I also have been pumping 91/93 octane for the last few months both based on recommendations from the guys on this board. Nothing is helping and i am nervous that I am damaging my engine.
