Default 5th gear issues with UTEC...

Ok so I got UTEC tuned up at turboXS and everything has been fine and dandy, running like a beast. I took it up to the track and on my last couple runs I noticed that as I am shifting into 5th I am getting the cruise light flashing (detecting knock if I'm not mistaken). I was done running for the day so I left and was doing some 5th gear pulls from low rpm through the gear and wasn't noticing it again. Then I did a 4-5 pull and it was flashing again right as I shift to 5th. Flashes 1-3 times then stops. I also noticed another time I did a 5th gear pull I peaked exhaust temp at 900 deg. celcius. All other gears I peak maybe 800/825 and cruise around 750.

So my question is what is the deal with the 5th gear issues? Is that temp acceptable with tbe and utec?

I would thing 900 c is on the high side. I take it you mean the CEL (yellow) is flasning and not the cruise (green). The CEL is knock. Do you feel timing being pulled when this happens?

what are your AFRs?

This knock you're experiencing is probably shift knock. This happens after a shift when the ECU takes control over timing and it's at ridiculous levels causing knock. You have to enter timing values and/or add a little fuel(not sure if the fuel part is necessary) on the 0% column at the higher rev range(where the rpms drop when driving hard. I set mine from 5250 and up) so the UTEC controls it and keeps it at bay. I believe most people enter 17-20 degrees. I put 19 degrees and haven't experienced shift knock since.
