Default utec problem

got my utec in the mail today for my 02 wrx...installed the utec then when had problems realized that i was running stage 4 parameters on a "stage 2 map"..loaded stage 1-3 parameters from turbo xs site and got worse..when getting on wot in any gear boost doesn't go above 10 and its like something is stuck in exhaust..it dumps fuel out of the exhause in the form of black smoke..there is the small selonoid where it should be by the turbo and i'm running the 4.2 update and both switches where down to "b" like the version 5 in the book says. We are stumped. any help would be appreciated.

Post all of your mods

Are you using the ABC?

Make sure you are using 4.2c firmware (not 4.2) and latest 1-3 parameters file from TurboXS site. The toggle switch gets moved before flashing, then returned to the original position after flashing. The other toggle switch is the fuel cut defender, leave this alone.

Make sure you are using latest maps from the TurboXS site.

Post some number #1 logs for us to see

Read the UTEC manual severall times.

well figured out the problem..i'm assuming its a combination of these two things: called turboxs and was told that i should revise the utec anyway because there are two versions of 4.2...so i do that and add my map and parameters in..still same problem..call turboxs again and they are stumped and tell me that i should check for boost leaks and intercooler piping...no cuts in the lines anywhere but low and behold my intercooler piping is comming off. fix that run .1 bar off the get go.. problem fixed now time to go lower the boost. thanks for the help everyone.
