Default 405South - My stock WRX vs. Nissan Skyline!

Okay here's the story.. I was on the way back from meeting the X from San Fran, and I was allllmost home going South on the 405. She's following behind in her new 05 corolla, and I am leading w/ the subie. I hear this loud "braaaaaahhmm" coming from behind and this guy passes me going about 90 (I am going around 70).

It's a freakin skyline! I don't know much about Skylines, but I think there are 3 versions? r32 r33 r34? Anyways correct me if I am wrong here, but it looked like one of the smaller ones. Aaaanyways, the guy pulls up next to me and floors it and I take off after him up the incline near Mulholland, right after you pass the 101 interchange.

Damn this thing is fast I thought to myself as I pushed past 110 uphill. The guy lets off the gas for a bit and I have a chance to pull up next to him on his right, and have both of us close enough to hear each-other on the freeway because he's right-hand drive. I yell to him he has a nice car and I honk my horn 3 times and on the third time we both take off.

We are neck and neck till ~115/120, and there isn't a single car on the road. He starts to slowly pull away at around 120. I let off the gas at like 130 because I have stock tires, and fear I have pushed it too far anyways. I end up hitting a turn at like 120 going downhill and I catch some massive body and tire roll and have to slow down. Was kinda scary. I then just watched the first skyline ever encountered on the FWY (that I even raced!) drive away into the night. I then slow down and wait about 3 minutes for my GF .

Now that i've come across one, it doesnt seem as if skylines are too quick, but then again I couldnt have pushed it much past 130, and he probly could have. Maybe it was the driver?

Serious note, if it was a real GT-R, I'm betting he was just playing with you because a GT-R of nearly any of the AWD+Twin Turbo Straight 6 vintage (R32, R33, R34) would be able to easily tromp a stock WRX from a roll.

If it was a GS-T or something then maybe we could talk because those aren't all that much without mods.

I think a GS-T is an Eclipse.

You mean GTS or GTS-T

Even the GT-R stock wasn't that much of a beast for a highway. The beauty of that car was the balance, power and agility, in a larger car. The stock GT-S in R32 form had a 2-Liter Turbo Inline-6, so that is about what one would expect from a race.
