when it gets warm, your car gets slower, no matter what. get used to it.

yea i figured that but it feels like a durastic change. But now that its night time it droped 20 degrees and its running good again. So i guess I will just have to deal with it. Thanks though. I dont have a wideband 02 so logging would be kinda worthless. I am not getting any knock at all.

Logging without a wideband is not worthless. You can be knocking without the utec detecting it by the way. Take some logs and compare the difference between the ecu timing and the utec timing.

temp compensation. get a warm map for warm weather and cold map for cold weather. So you would have to tune it yourself cause the variables are just not there in a garage. Make sure you don't have a boost leak somewhere. Make sure all the exhaust components are tight. I know it doesnt have to do with temp.

im going to check everything over but im pretty sure theres no boost leak or exhaust leak. I have done some research the weather does make a huge difference with the utec.

the fuel map looks rich.... you might be running at 11.5-12:1 at the low rpm and low load columns... rich map usually causes the hesitation most utec users experience

the boost map doesnt look right... at 50% TPS you would want 50% of the boost... and to do that you need to have something like 150 value @ 50% and 300-320 @100%

it is also recommended to taper the boost down as you come near the redline... the recommended boost chart can be found on the manual... if I'm not mistaken its like this for stage 2:

4000 rpm : 16.5 psi
5500 rpm : 15.0 psi
6000 rpm : 12.5 psi
7000 rpm : 12.0 psi

ps: when posting a map or log please use "[code]" .. its easier to look at

wow, you must be a super utec tuner or something.

theres no way to determine what the AFRs would look like without actually seeing them.

the boost map looks fine to me. you could taper it down at the 50%, but that has nothing to do with the issue he is having.

the turbo he has will automatically taper up top, chances are he needs to run a higher value to help that poor turbo in any way he can.

anyways, back to the topic at hand- any car with any EM solution will drive better in cooler weather, and feel faster in colder weather. air has a certain density at x degrees...and is more dense at x-y degrees and is less dense at x+y degrees. you will see this in the MAF readings. higher MAF = feels faster, lower MAF = feels slower. it is much easier for a turbo'd car to compensate for heat, since to get the MAF back up, all you have to do is add more boost. BUT this is not always something we can safely do. naturally, turbo'd cars will run LESS boost when warm (unless you have an automatically adjusting boost controller). this may be why it seems more pronounced in UTECs, since when its warm, you run less boost, and since the load is based off of boost, you run lower load columns...but in theory, when you drop down to a lower load column (one at the most), you should end up with a slightly leaner mixture and slightly higher ignition advance to keep you about the same, power-wise. you would, however, need to bump the boost HIGHER than what it ran on a winter map to match the MAF of the lower boosted winter map. like i said, this is usually not safe, since the boost you ran on the winter map is safe, and the turbo is probably putting out safer air (cooler). in the summer, if you run the same boost, you will automatically be pushing out hotter air...and then if you raise the boost even further, it will be even hotter...and hotter air is more det prone.

so in summary, all you really need to do with a summer map is maybe raise the boost a bit to compensate for the heat. but the safer alternative is its best just to leave it alone, and deal with the car being slower. this is ok, though, since most likely any car you race (maybe unless they are using NOS) will be slower with the heat as well.

yea im thinking of going along the lines of getting the N-tercooler or a water sprayer or water injection. I still dont know much about them but do you think this would be a good route to go?

Heres some logs I did today. I didnt have enough road to get up through 4th gear but thats the best I could do today. Also, these are the logs with it being 85 degrees outside and after me changing the boost gain down to 48. I seems like run much much better with the gain set at 48 instead of 50.
