Auto "UP" mod for power windows..???
Is there an auto-up feature that can be hacked into the switch....on DSm's there is a resistor that can be soldered into the switch to do this...Anyone heard of such a thing?

Not for Subarus. The auto-down function is part of a circuit board that incorporates the driver side window and lock switches, it's not something that can be modded. The only way to add additional auto-up or -down functionality to the windows is with aftermarket alarm system modules like DEI.

This is most definitely a long shot and I am in no way saying this will come remotely close to working, but may be worth the look.
http://www.vfaq.com/mods/auto-up.html This is for a 1G Talon. Again, no idea if this can be any use in any way. |

The problem with the auto UP function on cars is that it needs a "load sensor" on the motor that drives the window up in case there is something in the way,
try a car that has auto up and put your hand in the way, you will see that the window will stop going up. this is somethign to look into if you are going to implement this system ... which is probably the reason we dont have the system ... its costly and this was something subaru saved money on. this is really something subaru should look into if they are thinking about goin "Premium" |

The Subaru setup is nothing like the Talon in that link.

There are also stand-alone modules (for one window and maybe also for a pair) made by companies like Autoloc. I installed one on my Miata driver's side window to get auto-up and auto-down. One module is about the size of a pack of cigarettes and gets wired between the OEM switch and the window motor. When it senses the switch being held down or up, it activates the "auto" feature. The module also supplies the higher-current power to the window motor, so it can sense when the window has hit an obstacle or is binding, and shuts off the power in that case. It takes a bit of automobile electrical wiring knowledge to properly install it, and it cost about $50/module IIRC.
