Default 4g63 into a suby!

I was wondering if anyone has seen a 4g63 in a WRX/RS. I am asking because I saw a EVO III front clip (and maybe rear clip too) for sale cheap from a good dealer. I check the specs of both the RS and EVO III and they are very similar in dimensions. I know it would be a custom job just like the rotary into a RS. Just please let me know.

Thanks everyone.

Good idea but, I think that a DSM motor into a suby would be some kind of turbocharger sin.... Being direct competitors with mitsubishi, subaru would not like that to happen anytime soon...

I'm sure you'll find alot of help getting that DSM motor to work in the Subie......I doubt any of it will come from this forum though......We tend to like our scoob powerplants.

actually this is a good idea! the 4g63 has better stock and modified potential! the problem of motor mounts fitting 4g63 block is the biggest concern. since they can turn the transverse 4g63 sideways and use it in a starion/conquest, you should be able to fit in the suby engine bay. you might need new fans, radiator, or something like that. i'm not sure how long the mitsu motor is compared to the ej series. if they can wedge an h6 into it's bay a four cylinder should go o.k.! or you could buy an old plymouth laser awd turbo for dirt cheap, less than an awd impreza anyway! have fun with that!

I didn't say that I was going to do it I was just wondering if anyone has every tried it or whatever. I know they are competitors and I know no one on this forum would help but I saw the rotary Suby and I just thought since they could do that then why not a EVO motor. The swap that I am going to do is going to be something like a Ver. 5/6 or maybe something like a 22B. Thanks for your guys thoughts. And I am going to stick with the EJ series anyway I was just wondering.

How are you going to wire that thing and make it spin, if you were to take that route? It's complete custom so be prepared to not have a running car at the end as you run into some unforeseen trouble

I like the idea...the 4g63 is a better motor. It's probably difficult, but people have done some equally interesting swaps. I'd really like to see this actually.

FYI, the I or II or III is relatively trivial, but IV and up is not.

I think it is a good idea.. You get a great looking car that can actually make power..

Seriously if i was going to put a 4g in anything it would be an EK civic hatch.
